In January I renewed my annual subscription to Alert 1 for $325 which I pay for my elderly mother and which is automatically charged to my credit card. My credit card statement showed that Alert 1 had double-charged me, and so I had to contact the bank to delete the overcharge. Recently, I received a "Final Notice" bill from Alert 1 for $311.40, stating that my services with the company would be terminated if that amount was not paid within 15... Read more

Do not deal with Alert 1. They will do what they can to get their contract extended and bill you for another year. I originally called them and ordered a unit for one year $385.00 was charged to my credit card for one year which was agreed to. I called to cancel prior to the renewal. I returned the equipment. They told me according to their terms on their website, which I did not review. I dealt with alert 1 over the phone. I did not... Read more

I ordered this for my wife and was told it had a 30 money back so I paid the $400 plus to get it. the day I got it I tried putting the base unit at the most 40 feet from were my wife sits most of the time and it wouldn't work. I called to canx this service to get my money back and the recording said that part is only open 9-5 eastern time. I boxed it back up and called the next day and was told that I have to make a call from the unit before... Read more

I was sent out the new PAX system being 100% assured by the representatives and technicians that I would have coverage though AT&T. When I asked if I would be charged anything extra because my mother is on a limited income, Iwas told that I would not be. Lo and behold I find a charge of $68.65 on my visa. The new system did not work from the outset because of the area in which I live, and when I called for a refund the two supervisors I spoke... Read more

I paid a one yr monitoring agreement in advance b/c it was a better deal than paying monthly. The system was faulty and simply did not work unless I was standing very close to the equipment- I called to cancel and they DID NOT issue a refund for time left on acct. I no longer had a land line so the system was not able to monitor. JUST now saw my bank statement and they have CHARGED ME AGAIN $311.40 for a renewal that I did not request after... Read more

Alert-1 will keep your money on pre-paid accounts. They will only refund if you have used it less then 30 days. If you order a device, use it 31 days and your loved one dies, Alert-1 will *** out of the remainder of the money. Since this is a medical alert device, I would think they get to keep the balance of the vast majority of their pre-paid accounts. It is like going to a store and not getting your change. THEY PREY ON THE ELDERLY AND... Read more

Paid for the annual service for Alert1 for my mom. The annual service was cheaper and provided some additional benefits so they suckered me in. My mom died unexpectedly three months after service was started and because I didn't cancel within the first 30 days they told me that I cannot get a refund. So basically though the service was only used for 30 days, they want to hold me hostage to a year. They do not want to provide me with a pro-rated... Read more
